Favre will retire
I am stunned. Not because I’m a Packers fan (I’m not) or a Favre fan (not that either, see here) but because after coming so close to the Superbowl last season, I figured he’d try to get closer this coming season.
But now I get to witness the end of an era. Make no mistake, Favre has made a lasting contribution to the game of football. He’s set a lot of records that will no doubt be hard for others to achieve. He has been entertaining to watch, and for that I say thank you Mr. Favre.
I also am glad he’s not keeping everyone up in the air until the last possible moment while he decides whether or not to retire. This time it’s for real. I know the fans in Green Bay will miss you Brett.

They may miss him in Green Bay, but I won’t. I wonder if Denise has heard yet?
It’s about time; give Aaron Rodgers a chance. He’s earned it. He’s been behind Favre for years, and hasn’t complained once. Now it’s his time to shine and I can only say it’s long overdue.
Brett Favre played a long time and set a lot of records, that’s true. But I think records are kept for the sake of breaking. Someone will eventually take them from him, but he did make a lasting impact on the NFL.
Great tribute babe.
Thanks Love!
Yeah, I felt compelled to give the guy his due. He’s finally stepping aside to give someone else a chance. I did like his commercials though. My guess, we’ll see more of them. I don’t doubt he’ll step into the endorsement ring and give Peyton a run for that “Professional Commercial Artist” title.
LTY!
Oh no. I doubt it. His endorsements will fade to the “Dan Marino in NutriSystem commercial” variety now. For a bit, he’ll be hot — like Elway was. Then … pffffffft. Fizzle. Gone and forgotten. If nothing else, the world has a “what have you done for me lately” attitude.
